Q: How do I contact a "live" person for registration help and information?
A: Please contact the GDC Registration Department at (415) 947-6852 or toll free at (866) 714-1641. The Registration Department is open Monday-Friday from 9am to 4pm Pacific Time, excluding holidays.
Q: What is the cost for admission?
A: There are a number of different passes available, depending on what parts of the GDC Canada you want to see. For details about these passes and prices, please click here.
Q: What is the Goods and Services Tax (GST)?
A: Included in your registration fees is a 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST). To claim an exemption from this tax, you must provide your Canadian GST exemption number on a Registration Change Form, which can be downloaded here.
Fax the completed Registration Change Form, requesting your exemption to the UBM Registration Department at (415) 947-6011.

Q: When can I register to attend the Game Developers Conference Canada?
A: Registration for the conference is open from early January through dates of the conference (May 6-7, 2010). Please note that online pre-registration ends Wednesday, May 5th. Register here.
Q: I registered for GDC Canada online -- how do I get a receipt and confirmation?
A: If you registered and paid online, you will be emailed a receipt and confirmation. Please make certain to make a copy of your receipt for expense purposes as well as any follow-up with the GDC Registration Department. If you need an additional copy, contact the registration department here.
If you printed an invoice and submitted it with your check payment, we will mail you a confirmation and receipt, once your registration is received and processed. Online registration without payment does NOT secure the Alumni or Early registration discount. If you selected payment by check, please be aware that all check payments must be received by the Registration Department no later than Friday April 9, 2010 in order to apply the payment to your registration.
If you are unable to meet this deadline, please pay by credit card by accessing your registration as a returning user and follow the prompts to pay with a credit card.
Q: Why do I have to create a unique login and password for my registration?
A: For your privacy and protection we require anyone registering online to create a unique login for access to their registration. Having a login allows you online access to your receipt, pass selection and information about your registration.
Q: What is the International Game Developers Association's (IGDA) member discount for GDC Canada registration?
A: IGDA members can receive a CDN$50 discount on the price of their Main Conference or an All Access conference pass when they register. To receive your IGDA discount this year you must be a current IGDA member. Please contact IGDA directly at IGDA.org to obtain your unique IGDA discount code. Please note that the IGDA discount does not apply to Game Career Seminar passes and cannot be combined with other discounts including alumni discounts or group discounts. Please note the GDC call center will not be able to register you for an IGDA membership as of the GDC Canada conference cycle (January 10, 2010 through May 7,2010).
Q: When do I receive my badge?
A: Badges will not be mailed in advance of the event. Please bring a copy of your confirmation along with a government issued photo ID to collect your badge. Please care for your badge. A non refundable replacement fee will apply for all duplicate badge requests.
Q: I registered and now need to make changes to my registration, how can I do this?
A: If you need to cancel your registration, you may do so for a full refund, less a C$150.00 service charge until Friday, April 9, 2010. Attendees who register prior to or after the deadline date, who do not cancel in writing by the deadline date are liable for the pass cost and will be charged for the full registration fee.
Sorry, no refunds are available for no-shows. If you are unable to attend the event, we recommend that you send a substitution in your place. Changes to registrations must be presented in written form. Written requests for a downgraded pass must be received no later than Friday, April 9, 2010 for a full refund on the difference of registration fees between the value of the original and downgraded pass.Sorry, requests received after Friday, April 9, 2010 cannot be accommodated. Q: Can I combine other additional discounts along with my Alumni Discount?
A: No, Alumni discounts cannot be a combined with other discounts including group discounts or IGDA discount. Promotions including special offers from partner organizations are effective as of the date produced and cannot be retroactively applied to previously purchased passes.
Q: I’ve paid my conference fees but I’ve just received a promotion for a discount. How may I receive this discount? If I have two discount codes may I combine the two?
A: Promotions are effective as of the date produced and cannot be retroactively applied to previously purchased passes. Discounts cannot be combined with other discounts including Alumni, IGDA or group discounts.

Q: When do I find out whether my speaking proposal for the 2010 conference was accepted?
A: Notifications for GDC Canada will be sent out in Late February. If you have any questions regarding GDC Canada 2010 proposals, please contact Izora de Lillard.
Q: Can I bring my child to the show?
A: There will not be any on-site child care services at the GDC Canada. And due to safety concerns, no one under the age of 18 (including infants in strollers) will be permitted on the show floor at any time during the Game Developers Conference.
Q: Why can't I see the registration page on this site?
A: The registration portion of this site serves encrypted pages, and will not display on browsers with security settings set too low. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced, scroll to the bottom of the list, and make sure SSL 2.0 or 3.0 is enabled. Q: Will there be wireless internet access at the show?
A: With over 350 access points throughout the Vancouver Convention Centre, Bell is capable of offering wireless Internet. More information on wireless coming soon.
